The Competitive Team
Competitive Team Information
- Team placement and leveling is open to ages 5-18.
- Placements: You will be asked to list your dance interests for groups as well as solo/duet/small group break out opportunities.
- Instructors will determine groups and who will be chosen and what level they will perform with.
- Solos/Duets/Trios and breakout opportunities will be approved and determined by the instructors. Opportunities for solos/duets/trios and breakouts may be offered to your student based on ability and technique (There is no obligation to agree to it)
- Two Competitive Teams: National Team - open to traveling long distances for performances, Regional Team- Stays close to home and performs locally at community performances.
- Leveling: Biddy Icons (6 and Under), Mini Icons, Junior Icons, Senior Icons (Leveling is based on ability and will be determined by the instructors)
- Senior team members will be required to complete a certain number of Student Assisting Hours each year.
- Technique classes are required classes for both the Regional and National Team members of all ages!
- Team members are encouraged to utilize fundraising opportunities and sponsors to help offset the cost of team fees.
TECHNIQUE ONLY OPPORTUNITIES
- Technique classes are open to Non-Competitive students with NO PERFORMANCE opportunity
- Technique classes can be taken to build skills or maintain skill level
- It is our hope that technique classes are seen as an introduction to the competition team with the intention of joining the team in the future, but not a requirement.
- Technique classes are a minimum 12 week obligation.

National Team
national competition team expectations
- Students must take the minimum required 4 tech classes per week no matter the number of performances classes registered for.
- National dancers will attend a minimum of 3 regionals and 1 nationals each season.
- Dancers will be required to attend at least 1 of 3 conventions suggested by the studio.
- Dancers are encouraged to seek out additional training classes/conventions/master classes and encouraged to share their experience with their peers.
- Accounts must be paid in full 30 days PRIOR to the attendance of Nationals
Regional Team
regional competition team expectations
- Students must take the minimum required 2 tech classes per week no matter the number of performance classes registered for.
- Regional dancers will be held to the same standards as our National Team.
- Regional dancers will be required to perform at 1-2 local competitions as well as perform at local community events.
- Conventions will be offered, but are not required.
- Accounts must be paid in full 30 days prior to the attendance of the FINAL competition performance.
